Quitting. Leaving. Starting over again. These things take real courage and guts to do most especially when your heart’s in turmoil. There may be a lot of questions in your head, and the answers are too far from reach. To restart your life, to take a different path, to have a new beginning — there’s nothing scarier.
All your life, you must have been fighting. And I know it’s tiring. Waking up every day to the same things that worry and challenge you, you feel like you’ve never had a moment’s rest. But now here you are, experiencing this daunting feeling of going back to square one.
In moments like this, remember that you are not going back to zero. Starting over doesn’t mean erasing all the progress you’ve made. Starting over doesn’t mean being empty.
Maybe you’re starting over because some things are no longer good for you. You want to rebuild yourself, you want to rebuild your life. You are letting go of the things that no longer support you or offer growth. You’ve realized that these things have started to hurt you instead of heal. And, the smart person that you are, thought that taking care of yourself is a priority.
Winning does not always mean surviving. There are times that you have to lose for you to be able to keep going.
It is tough to start over again, but you are tougher for being able to decide that. You knew what you needed to do, then you acted upon it. If you’re going through a rough patch, it’ll be over soon. Eventually, it will. You will then be able to take one step at a time, one day at a time. And the next thing you know, you’ve come a long way.
That’s the beauty of starting over. It makes you see the strength in you. It makes you realize that endings will always give you a chance to rest then rebuild.
Give yourself a pat. You got this!
